.: Hermit (close to)

I don’t think I am a Hermit, but I might be close. I have a very select group of friends with whom I am extremely comfortable with. With others, it seems like ……{i won’t say it, let your imagination fill in the rest}.

Usually I look forward to weekends and holidays because it involves doing nothing productive. It’s not like I sleep 10 hours a day or sit on the couch watching TV all day. However, the thought of stepping outside the comfort of home and interacting with people kind of makes cringe. Anusha is the exact opposite in terms of a being people person. She loves meeting people and interacting with them, but I often throw a monkey wrench into her plans (which makes me feel bad).

I think the end of last year might have been a major change to all of that. Starting with Thanksgiving right through yesterday, there were a multitude of get-togethers with good friends and their friends (total strangers to me). And I managed to survive and not-sleep-on-the-couch**. I guess I am getting used to being around people again :).

And today, it was great to catch up with best friend Satya and couple of his friends. They spent the New Years in Miami this year to get away from f****ing (I mean freezing) New York.

** sleep-on-the-couch is short for “Don’t make your wife so mad that you have to …….couch”
