Another year just went by like it was nobody’s business

Each year, right after Christmas and before the New Year, is when this domain gets renewed by the fabulous group at symonds.net. It is also around that time of the year when I get an (y)earful from the dear wife about money going down the drain. And each year I spend a good chunk of time during my year-end vacation trying to get inspired by web design sites and other blogs for some clean and simple themes to use.

Somehow, I don’t get into the mood to post something unless there is a “change” to the look of this site. When the site went up for the first time in 2004, it had a pretty snazzy theme which was heavily customized to have a lot of eye-candy icons and graphics. A lot of time and effort went into creating style sheets and code to make it appear *sexy*. Six years in, I have either become lazy (I can see the wife nodding) or just older. I like clean, simple themes these days. Something with a newspaper-like print with emphasis on typography. A couple of good friends have very simplistic yet elegant blogs.

So here it is: The new theme for 2011 with some css tweaks and a splash of color. I will post more on the tweaks as the days and weeks progress by.
